Mozza is the primary culinary anchor of the Costa Palmas Marina Village, developed by Iron Gate as a defining component of the waterfront’s food and beverage program. Introducing Nancy Silverton’s internationally recognized restaurant concept to the East Cape, the project established the district as an immediate destination for residents, members, and visiting guests, opening alongside the Four Seasons and ahead of future venues including Amanvari and Casa Blake. The program merges the DNA of Osteria Mozza, Pizzeria Mozza, and chi SPACCA with a Baja driven menu centered on regional seafood and agricultural sourcing. Positioned on the central courtyard with direct marina views, the restaurant was conceived as a layered dining environment organized around the wood fired oven, bar, private dining, and outdoor lounge. Balwyck supported Iron Gate in a management and owner representation capacity, assisting in execution while development leadership and project vision remained with Iron Gate.

Working under Iron Gate’s direction, Balwyck assisted in managing the realization of Mozza’s technically demanding restaurant environment within an active Marina Village jobsite. The scope included coordinating kitchen infrastructure, aligning operational flow with construction sequencing, integrating custom millwork and specialty finishes, and tracking long lead culinary elements such as the wood fired oven and bar fabrication against installation milestones. Continuous cost validation maintained compliance with the financial structure established by the developer, while field level quality control ensured that imported materials, custom furnishings, and back of house systems met performance and durability standards. Close collaboration with the culinary team supported functional layouts for service efficiency from opening day. In the final phase, Balwyck guided the transition into active operations, calibrating circulation, seating density, and service logistics so the venue opened in full alignment with Iron Gate’s broader hospitality program.
