As one of the earliest openings, Casena played a defining role in activating daily life along the harbor, shaping the guest experience from morning coffee through afternoon retail discovery. The concept blends espresso service, pantry provisions, and artisan made home goods within an open air architectural setting that reflects both the heritage of the Baja peninsula and contemporary Mexican craft. Balwyck operated within Iron Gate’s development structure in a management and owner representation capacity, supporting execution in alignment with the broader delivery schedule and operational vision.

Operating as the management layer under Iron Gate, Balwyck oversaw the field execution of Casena, ensuring that design intent, construction sequencing, and operational requirements advanced as a single coordinated effort. The scope included synchronizing specialty finishes with installation schedules, integrating custom artisan components, and directing contractor workflows within a live multi project environment. Long lead procurement was tracked against installation milestones to maintain schedule continuity, while ongoing cost validation protected the approved financial parameters established by the developer. Quality control procedures verified that the architectural language, material palette, and retail and café functions were delivered as a unified spatial experience. In the final phase, Balwyck managed the transition from construction to active use, calibrating the environment for merchandising, food service, and guest circulation, resulting in a fully operational opening aligned with Iron Gate’s broader vision for the village.
